You can override the double-tap gesture on your Apple Watch when using Vision Pro.

watchOS 10.4 and iOS 17.4 beta introduce a new toggle for Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2. The new setting is intended to prevent conflicts between Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro, especially during gestures.

Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 work with Apple’s new double-tap gesture, which lets you select prominent buttons and open widgets without touching the screen. Apple Vision Pro, on the other hand, can use the same finger gestures to select content in VisionOS.

So how do gestures work when you’re wearing both a watch and a headset? You decide.

A soon-to-be-added feature will allow you to override the Apple Watch’s double-tap gesture while wearing Vision Pro. This allows Vision Pro to win when making selection moves. What if you’re not wearing Vision Pro? On Apple Watch, double tap works as expected.

This is a good compromise to annoying conflicts between devices. iOS 17.4 and watchOS 10.4 are scheduled to be released in March. The first public beta of iOS 17.4 was released today.
