Imagine Hulk Hogan made of strange black metal instead of flesh and with a strange blue mask covering the top half of his face, and you’ll have a very accurate idea of what Steel Gigas looks like. It can appear anywhere in Arqa, i.e. from the 23rd floor to the 69th floor, but you won’t encounter it very often. It’s a strong shadow and they appear rarely, although they appear more often if you buy Gamble Fortune.

Whenever there is a Strong Shadow nearby, the navigator will warn you. The mini-map markers for Strong Shadows are larger and more animated than regular shadows, and they have a deep red glow when you see them in the world.

IN Reload Persona 3, Steel Gigas has a resistance and a weakness. It is resistant to Strike attacks (those with the fist icon), but is weak to Electric attacks. This is because although it looks like a wrestler, it is actually a wrestler. And, as you know from my Swift Axle guide, JRPG rules state that all mechanical enemies must be weak to electricity and lightning.

How to defeat Steel Gigas in Reload Persona 3

If Akihiko Sanada has joined your party and you bring him along, defeating Steel Gigas will be quite simple. Just keep hitting it with Akihiko’s Zio skill, then Full Attack.

But even if you don’t have Akihiko with you, it’s not too difficult. By this point in the game, you should have found at least one Persona for your leader that can deal Electric damage. For example, Pixie, Omoikane, and Devil are all low-level Personas with the Zio skill, either by default or earned by leveling up a bit.

And once you’ve got one of them, you can apply the aforementioned strategy against Steel Giga: Zio, Full attack, rinse, repeat. If you don’t have any Electric damage at all, then you might want to stay away from Powerful Darkness in Arqa until you do, as Steel Gigas can do a lot of damage if you don’t spend destroy it quickly. It has many powerful physical attacks and can sometimes even counter your own physical attacks.
