Garmin is finally sharing the first update of its new beta cycle for its smartwatch launch.

Garmin Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 265S smartwatches are receiving beta update 18.15 after a longer-than-expected wait. Other Forerunner models, such as the 255 and 965, have already had multiple versions available, but this is the first software iteration of the 18.xx cycle for wearables.

Beta version 18.15 of the Forerunner 265 includes new features found in the other wearable devices listed above. This includes automatic activity detection toggles for multisport profiles, an undo lap tool, and a jump rope activity. We’ve also added Sleep Coach at a glance and access to a database containing details of different 400m running tracks around the world. Additionally, turn point course navigation and headset compatibility have been improved.

Garmin has addressed various bugs by rolling out fixes for crashes when viewing weather and text clipping found on the activity summary page. Addressed issue with some sports profile settings and Do Not Disturb mode where notification update data displayed on the watch face was slower than expected. The company noted that at the time of the last post, the software had been pushed to 20% of eligible wearables. However, if you haven’t received the software and want to skip the waiting time, you can search for it manually by going to Menu > System > Software Update > Check for updates. Garmin Forerunner 265 smartwatch owners who wish to participate in the beta program can do so through GCM.
